How to photograph your car for sale

Clear, accurate photographs help a buyer understand the car before sending their first message.

Prepare the scene

Clean the car and remove personal belongings. Park legally in a bright, uncluttered place. Early morning or light cloud can make details easier to see than strong midday reflections.

Build a useful sequence

Start with a three-quarter exterior view, then photograph both sides, front and rear. Add the front and rear seats, dashboard, boot and wheels. AutoZer accepts up to ten photos per advert.

Show condition honestly

Include important damage and wear. Avoid filters, misleading crops or images of another vehicle. Check that the photograph is in focus and that the car is not hidden by shadows.

Protect personal details

Check reflections and backgrounds for people or private information. Keep identity documents, payment details and your precise home address out of photos. AutoZer re-encodes uploads, but you should review the visible content yourself.
