Private seller or dealer: questions to ask

Different sellers offer different experiences. Establish who you are buying from and what is included before you agree a purchase.

Identify the seller

Ask who owns the car and who will appear on the sales paperwork. A dealer profile on AutoZer is information supplied by the seller, not an endorsement or independent verification.

Clarify the package

Ask whether any warranty, preparation, delivery or after-sales service is included, and get the terms in writing. Do not assume a feature is included because similar adverts mention it.

Check condition either way

Review the records, inspect the car and ask about known faults whether the seller is private or a business. The listing is a starting point for your checks.

Know where to get help

Your rights depend on the transaction and seller. For current consumer guidance, consult Citizens Advice or GOV.UK. AutoZer connects buyers and sellers and does not sell, inspect or guarantee the advertised vehicles.
